Jazmine + Erik | Lake Ray Roberts Engagement

Sometimes things don't always go as planned. Take this session with Jazmine and Erik, for example. We had two other locations in mind before we settled on Plan C: the lake. When we arrived, we had briefly paused at two spots before stopping at a little cove I hadn't visited before. Poor Jazmine twisted her ankle as we were walking towards the water's edge... but we made do and Jazmine was a trooper. I can't wait for their wedding this Fall because these two are so chill, so relaxed, so content just to be with each other. And that's what it's about.

What we ended up with was a gorgeous sunset with the moon overhead in the sky. A perfect breeze. A mild reprieve from the overwhelming heat we've been experiencing this summer. The quiet sounds of the water lapping the sand...and a random speedboat blaring "Pony" by Ginuwine (because every engagement session needs that to be part of the soundtrack.) I took off my boots, rolled up my jeans, and waded out in the water for a few shots. While I wasn't able to get every single shot I had planned out in my mind, maybe that was for the best. Sometimes serendipity truly shows up for us in the most unexpected ways.

Rรฉgine + Jeremy | Denton Bayless Selby House Wedding + OSDH Reception

I've gushed over them before and definitely will again, because this is not the last of them that you will see on the blog... but I adore Rรฉgine and Jeremy. They are precious, sweet humans and I want to somehow figure out how to adopt them into my family. Their wedding day kicked off with a first look on the courthouse lawn, praying that the rain would hold back, a beautifully moving ceremony on the lawn of the Historic Bayless-Selby House, an intimate lunch at Barley & Board, and a reception at everyone's favorite - Oak Street Draft House. Doesn't get much more Denton than that, right? Anyway, there are a ton of photos here, so congrats if you make it all the way to the end. I had a hard time narrowing it down, obviously. Sorry not sorry, folks. Special thanks to Denton County Brewing Company for letting us sneak in for a few shots.

J+R -
I just love y'all so much. It makes me want to KKW cry. That's how much.

Brooklyn + Chad | Denton Maternity Session

If there's one thing I love as much as I love getting to photograph engagements, elopements, and weddings, it's photographing maternity sessions. There's something so beautiful and magical about this time in a woman's life - and it's so exciting to know that a family is about to grow and change in such an amazing way. I won't say how long I've known Brooklyn and Chad, because, lordy, it's been a minute... but it was such a joy to get to work with them at such an important time in their lives together. And good grief, Brooklyn is one of the most stunning mamas-to-be I've ever seen. Here are a few of my favorite shots from their maternity session at Texas Women's University here in Denton.

B+C - I'm so happy for you both and for your little bb. I can't wait to meet him and see y'all grow as a family - you're going to make such fantastic parents! Sending lots of love and prayers that he makes his way out here into the world soon, because I know all too well how fun it is to be at the end of your pregnancy in the middle of the Texas summer heat! xx.

Ty + Ethan | Downtown Denton Anniversary Session

These two are just the sweetest together. I met Ty and Ethan in downtown Denton one evening a couple of weeks ago to hit up some of the places where they spent time when they first met and were falling in love here in Denton. While we started shooting a little later than I typically start, I loveloveloved the tones that came from shooting in the blue hour and realized I really want to start doing more of that. All in all, I had so much fun hanging out with and getting to know you, Ty and Ethan!

And I'm currently working up the nerve to share a before and after edit just so you all can see how far gone the sun was/how amazing Nikon is in low light/how rad photoshop is. We'll see.

Chelsae + Justin | Downtown Denton Doctor Who Proposal

On Saturday afternoon, I had the exciting task of taking our dear friend, Chelsae, around the downtown Denton square area under the guise of experimenting with a new prism (which was actually something I had wanted to do) - with the intention of getting her over to Barley and Board so her boyfriend (and Chris's best friend), Justin, could propose.  Here are a few of the shots from the moments leading up to Justin's proposal.

Justin ended up popping out from around the corner at Barley & Board, got down on one knee, told Chelsae he he'd searched all of time and space for her, and asked her to be his wife. Chris and I are so thrilled for them both and are so honored to have been there to witness that important moment for them. xx.
