J + E | The Eagle Historic Warehouse Wedding | Hillsboro

I can’t believe it’s been well over a year since I sat down with Jazmine and Erik to talk about their wedding at The Eagle Historic Warehouse in Hillsboro, Texas. I instantly loved the way they interact with each other, their love story, and how much they both adore animals. They both have extremely good hearts and I knew working with them would be a pleasure.

I had the absolute best time with them during their engagement session at Lake Ray Roberts - even when Jaz hurt her ankle near the beginning of the session and we decided to keep the rest of it limited to the spot we had landed without too much movement on her part when it came to posing. They both aced it and were so natural together.

Their wedding day came and went so quickly, but it was truly one of the highlights of my year. Their venue has some fantastic lighting, I’m obsessed with the brick inside the ceremony and reception space, and it’s nestled in the heart of some gorgeous old buildings all surrounded by unique alleyways with fantastic little spots for shooting. I can’t describe how wonderful (and hysterical!) their wedding party was and how sweet their families were - I seriously had the best time. My favorite part of the day was their first look because, after dancing around excitedly after seeing his gorgeous bride, Erik let out a loud “WHOOP!",” which was just the most genuine and awesome reaction. And then I cried because it was such a perfectly “Erik and Jaz” moment.

And I have to send a special shoutout to my girl, Nikki Lair, who acted as their planner and day of coordinator - she did a phenomenal job. And a second shoutout to John Bowman with Rock the Planet DJ. Chris and I hired John and his wife for our wedding and have been recommending them to everyone since then - working with them is such a blast because they really keep the party going and know how to read the room. (So, hire them!)

Here are a few of my favorites from Jaz’s and Erik’s gorgeous wedding day…

P + J | Downtown Denton Courthouse Intimate Wedding

Preston and Jessica are some of the sweetest and nicest people you’ll ever meet. Even though I spent less than two hours with them, it was beyond obvious how they ended up together. Although they knew each other in high school, it took getting out into the real world and a trivia team to finally bring them together.

Together, with their families, they traveled to Denton from Lubbock to get married in an intimate wedding on the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square lawn. Perfection. Thunder was cracking when I arrived for the first look and the rain miraculously held off the entire time, with storm clouds rolling in right at the end for that gorgeous view from the LSA rooftop bar. Really couldn’t have asked for a nicer weekday afternoon.

P + J,
Thanks so much for including me in such a sweet and special moment for you both. Sending lots of love.
xx,
S.

Régine + Jeremy | Secret Elopement at Home in Denton

Over the last year and a half, especially, I've had the privilege of photographing quite a few elopements that I haven't been able to share images from. Many couples decide to get married before their actual wedding day for any number of reasons, some couples decide to secretly tie the knot and share some of the images as an "engagement session, some couples elope and just don't tell anyone. Ever. All secret-like. James-Bond-stealth-style.

Anyway, I love me some elopements, y'all. 1. The stress of wedding planning disappears and the couple is able to truly relax and enjoy the moments fully. 2. It's incredibly intimate and so, so special. 3. ALL THE FEELS. 4. Secrets, secrets ARE SO FUN! So, when Régine texted and said that she and Jeremy had decided to tie the knot shortly before their wedding day in THEIR LIVING ROOM, I kind of invited myself and told her I had to be there. I never intended to share the photos from that sweet morning, but when they gave me permission to do so, I was over the moon.

Not only did they decide to get married in that room, we photographed their engagement session there, and it was such an honor to be a witness to their private vows - along with their officiant and their three precious cat babies. One of the highlights of the year, for sure. If you and your boo are considering secretly tying the knot and want someone to photograph and help plan it, please feel free to reach out! I can even provide you with an officiant and some guidance if you need. These are some of my favorite, favorite things to photograph ever.

xx,
S.

Régine + Jeremy | Denton Bayless Selby House Wedding + OSDH Reception

I've gushed over them before and definitely will again, because this is not the last of them that you will see on the blog... but I adore Régine and Jeremy. They are precious, sweet humans and I want to somehow figure out how to adopt them into my family. Their wedding day kicked off with a first look on the courthouse lawn, praying that the rain would hold back, a beautifully moving ceremony on the lawn of the Historic Bayless-Selby House, an intimate lunch at Barley & Board, and a reception at everyone's favorite - Oak Street Draft House. Doesn't get much more Denton than that, right? Anyway, there are a ton of photos here, so congrats if you make it all the way to the end. I had a hard time narrowing it down, obviously. Sorry not sorry, folks. Special thanks to Denton County Brewing Company for letting us sneak in for a few shots.

J+R -
I just love y'all so much. It makes me want to KKW cry. That's how much.
xx,
S.

Allegra + Brian | Denton Civic Center Wedding

If I don't check myself, I'll end up writing paragraphs about how wonderful these people are - as are all of the people around them. I've known Allegra for many years and it was such an honor to be there with her and Brian, as they celebrated one of the most important chapters in their love story. Feels. All of the feels. I'm going to check myself only because there are just...lots of images ahead. Lots. Like, good luck waiting for this to load on your phone lots.

A+B: we just love you guys, both as individuals and as a couple. It's really cool when things come full circle, huh? It has been such a joy to have you in our lives and we're looking forward to many years of Monopoly Deal and hangs. We love you.

Special thanks goes out to my girl, Melanie Little Gomez, for rocking the job of second during the reception. xx.
